Our CEO, also the company's founder, Ms. Phyllis Kwong Ka Yin graduated from the University of Hong Kong in 1980, double-majoring in history and political science. She had her legal training in Bristol and the College of Law at Guildford of the U.K. from 1983 to 1985. In 1994, she completed a training programme for PRC lawyers which was jointly run by the China People’s University of Beijing and the Hong Kong Shue Yan College. After acquiring her LLM's degree in PRC Economic Law from the Sun Yat-Sen University of Guangzhou, P.R.C. in 1999, she continued her study with and attained a Doctorate Degree programme in PRC Civil and Commercial Law at the China University of Political Science and Law at Beijing.

After serving briefly as an Executive Officer II and Assistant Labour Officer in the Home Affairs and Labour Departments of the Hong Kong Government, Phyllis enrolled in a legal training programme in the U.K. under a Government Legal Training Scholarship in 1983. She was trained in banking and financial services law at Messrs. Clifford Chance' London and Hong Kong offices. She served in the Attorney General’s Chamber, the Companies Registry, the Trade Mark Registry, the Official Receiver’s Office and the Land Office respectively. In 1991, Phyllis set up her own law office.

Phyllis focuses on serving the SME sector, both local and overseas. She represents local and foreign companies in various matters relating to their business operation, including setting up offices, joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions, and the restructuring of small-to-medium-sized enterprises.

She also advises local companies, including start-ups and SMEs on issues such as corporate structures, IP rights protection and growth strategies (e.g. mergers and acquisitions, venture capital investment, etc.)

Phyllis is the founding Chairman of the Hong Kong Association of International Cooperation of Small and Medium Enterprises and previously chaired the Small and Medium Enterprises Committee of the Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce. She has also been appointed as an Honorary Council Member of the Guangdong Provincial Foreign Investment Law Association.

Phyllis' current focus includes such topics as Competition Law, WTO Legal Framework, and legal issues in relation to economic integration between Mainland China and Hong Kong.
